Album Info
Queen's first live album, Live Killers, compiles performances
from the band's European Tour from January to March 1979. Released in late
June 1979, the album peaked at #3 in the UK and went double platinum in
the US, reaching #16 on the Billboard chart.
A live single, Love Of My Life backed with Now I'm Here, charted at #63
on the UK chart. Elektra released We Will Rock You (Fast) in the US as a
single, but it did not chart.
An edited, single disc version of Live Killers was released in Japan, Brazil,
Australia, and South America in 1985 titled simply Queen Live. A New Zealand
version was released the same year under the title Live In Concert.
The British national newspaper, The Mail On Sunday, included a promo CD
called Rock You with their April 26, 2009 edition. Rock You used the Live
Killers album artwork and ten tracks from the album, paired with four tracks
from the We Will Rock You Original London Cast to promote the musical.

The US and Japan markets both released the live version of We Will Rock
You (Fast) as a single in 1979. Both releases used a unique edit of the
Live Killers version of Let Me Entertain You as the B-side. The track starts
midway through Freddie's interaction with the audience. The crowd fades
in and Freddie asks them "are you ready to rock... are you ready to
roll... ok let's do it". The track ends with a fade out of the crowd
cheering.

This version edits out the entire intro of Freddie saying "You are now gonna
sing!..." and starts straight with the music. Also, the track does not fade
in as it does on the album, but flows with audience noise straight from
Get Down, Make Love. Similarly, the ending edits off the audience chanting
after the song finishes and rather than fading out, which it does on the
album, the audience noise flows straight into '39.

editing out some of the crowd cheering at the end.

Alive ended Side Two and Don't Stop Me Now was the first track of Side Three,
so here they faked a cross-fade with this edit between the two tracks.

The US #1 release of Crazy Little Thing Called Love featured a unique Live
Killers single version of Spread Your Wings. The intro does not include
the initial piano note before the song (the Japanese version retains this
part of the intro). This version is a bit longer than the album version

roll at the end.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love 7" vinyl
The Japanese release of Crazy Little Thing Called Love, like it's American
counterpart, featured the Live Killers performance of Spread Your Wings
as the B-side. The Japanese single version is slightly different though.
At the start of the track the crowd noise fades in and the initial piano
note is retained (unlike the US version). This version runs slightly faster,
which shortens the track length. The end fades out very quickly after Roger's
final drum roll.

song. A long section of crowd noise follows Roger's drum roll at the end.
