Recorded on April 18, 1987 at Townhouse Studios during the Barcelona sessions. This is a short, fun hello from Freddie to the fans at the 1987 Queen Fan Club convention. Mike Moran is featured on piano.

Holding On (Demo) 4:12

Freddie was spending time in the studio after the Magic Tour with an idea for a new solo album. "The Great Pretender" was seemingly going to be part of it (and maybe "Hold On" with Jo Dare), but only a few demos were put down before the Barcelona project took over. This is a poppy number and quite fun. Recorded at Townhouse Studios in London on March 9, 1987.

Horns Of Doom (Demo) 4:16

Presented for your consideration: a David Richards composition dating from the Barcelona sessions, titled "Horns Of Doom." There are no vocals and it is a very moody, dark piece that has led to some speculation as to whether Freddie appears on this at all. It is hard to say one way or the other just by listening. Given how dynamic Barcelona turned out, this might well have been one of many abandoned ideas. Recorded at Townhouse Studios in London on February 11, 1987.

I Can't Dance/Keep Smilin' (Demo) 3:43

These are two songs linked by the same drum track. Assuming they were like this on the original demo, it might have been a planned segue. Freddie chats with someone (probably Mike Moran or one of the engineers) between tracks. Recorded at Townhouse Studios in London on February 17, 1987.

It's So You (Demo) 2:40

Reminiscent of "My Melancholy Blues" in style and feel, it's a shame this did get any further. What's there is promising and probably would have been a great closing to track to an album. Recorded at Townhouse Studios in London on February 3, 1987.

Yellow Breezes is another one-off track that was recorded after the release of The Great Pretender single. It is unknown what project Freddie was intending to conceive during this time period. The track is piano driven and very early in development. Lyrics are mainly ad-lipped and simple. Recorded at Townhouse Studios in London on March 9, 1987. Mike Moran co-wrote and played keyboards. Erdal Kizilcay played bass and David Richards programmed the drums.
