This remix doesn't waste any time. It's short and compact. There's nothing
new or added, just a rebuilding from the ground up, making the song thicker
all around and straight to the point.

Where the Single Remix compresses the song into a no-nonsense mix, this
version rebuilds the song differently, taking time to layer each element
one at a time. Both are excellent, with one fast-acting, and the other
long-lasting. Use as directed: Loudly!

There isn't much difference here from the album version, except that the
lead up to the first chorus is cut, which is pretty harsh. There's also
some instrumental cut from the middle. Really, for the sake of trimming
thirty seconds, the result is not great.

This track follows the format of most Extended Versions of the period,
drawing out the instrumental sections without deviating from the original.
Don't expect much new here, but it's a stand-up effort and superior in
all ways to the Single Version.

Foxy Lady 3:26

A cover of the Jimi Hendrix song and a pretty good effort, but nothing
is going to top the original. It's still well worth having and it's only
available on the CD version of the album.

This non-album b-side is a good little rocker, which doesn't try to do
too much. Some of the lyrics are reminiscent of the end of "Stealin'"
(the Queen non-album track). This is surprisingly hard to find, since
it's only available on the 7" single.

This version improves on the regular version by adding a two and a half
minute moody percussion intro (longer than the actual song), which is
pretty excellent. This version seems easier to find because it was on
both the 12" and CD singles.

Final Destination 12" vinyl
Here is The Cross performing Roger's solo track from his Strange Frontier
album. It has a lighter feel compared to the original and sounds like
they were having fun. This exact track reappeared again as a b-side for
"New Dark Ages" of the next album, but slightly edited (Roger's intro
is removed).

I Can't Get You Out Of My Head 3:36

Appears on: Unreleased
An unreleased Cross track by Clayton Moss recorded at The Jams Studios sessions.
The track has acoustic guitar throughout and has an almost country/bluesy
sound to it. Recommended if you can find it. |
