A fairly major edit of the album version. The intro is much shorter, which works really well. The outro to the song has been edited out completely which makes it more radio friendly. Not a bad edit at all.

One Vision (Extended Version) 6:28

Appears on: UK & US One Vision 12" vinyl

Basically the same as the album cut, just with a much longer percussion section in the middle with plenty of drums and various Freddie bits. Gets to be a bit much after a while, but there are certainly worse extended versions.

One Vision (Classic Queen Version) 4:39

Similar to the single mix except that it retains the full intro. The outro is again edited here for the CD. I don't see why they just didn't use the single mix.

One Vision (US Promo Edit) 3:46

Again, similar to the single edit, just with more of the intro trimmed. Kind of a pointless edit, but it still sounds good.

A Kind Of Vision (Demo, August 1985) 3:24

Written by Roger Taylor
Appears on: UK 2011 A Kind Of Magic Deluxe CD

As Roger Taylor explained in numberous interviews, including the commentary on Absolute Greatest, One Vision and A Kind Of Magic actually started as the same song. Until the 2011 Deluxe CD release, we didn't know that there was actually a demo recorded of this unified idea. This demo features Freddie on lead vocals and is more similar to A Kind Of Magic than it is to One Vision. Regardless, this is a very entertaining and surprising inclusion to the 2011 Remasters.

The first 3 minutes is basically the album version. After that, the mix takes off into a long instrumental section and back into the regular mix. The extra instrumental bit adds a little to the song.

A Kind Of "A Kind of Magic" 3:37
Written by Roger Taylor

An interesting instrumental of A Kind Of Magic. Some of Freddie's vocals appear throughout the song to keep it from being a straight instrumental. It is very similar to the instrumental sections of the extended version.

A Kind Of Magic (Highlander Version) 4:23
Written by Roger Taylor
Appears on: UK 2011 A Kind Of Magic Deluxe CD

This is quite possibly the best version of A Kind Of Magic released. This is the original version that Roger had in mind before Freddie "locked hiimself away" with the track. The album version ended up being slightly poppy and dance oriented. This original version was much more somber and atmospheric.

A Kind Of Magic (Highlander Version Gallery Edit) 4:08

Appears on: Queen Wembley '86 DVD

The Highlander Version of A Kind Of Magic made a DVD appearance 8 years before it appeared on the 2011 Deluxe CD. If you access the gallery on Disc 2 of the Live At Wembley Statdium DVD, this version of A Kind Of Magic is played. It is slightly shorter than the full version. The final 15 seconds or so are removed, ending with an early fade-out.

A pretty decent unofficial remix. This is a much longer remix than the extended version, this track features some interesting looping and phasing sound effects. Not bad at all.

One Year Of Love (Extended Version) 6:40
Written by John Deacon
Appears on: Highlander - The Immortal Edition

The track begins with an almost 2 minute long instrumental section that features parts of the regular mix. Basically it starts out sounding like a remix of an instrumental version. Most of Freddie's vocals appear close together now without much instrumentation in between. The long saxophone part still appears. If you take out the first 2 minutes, it would be a good single remix.

One Year Of Love (Promo Edit) 3:51
Written by John Deacon
Appears on: Hollywood Records One Year Of Love promo CD

An instrumental section being cut out and a slight remix of the ending characterize this promo edit. Up until 3:39, this track is identical to the album version. After this point, the album version has an instrumental solo that is edited out of the Promo Edit version. The track ends by playing the last few seconds of the album version outro.

An excellent remix of the album version featuring a different (and better) intro, a few more instrumental bursts in the middle, and a new fading outro. Superior to the album version and worth a listen.

Pain Is So Close To Pleasure (Extended Version) 6:01
Written by Freddie Mercury
/John Deacon
Appears on: US Pain Is So Close To Pleasure 12" vinyl, 12" Collection CD

An extended mix of the single version, not the album version. The intro is much longer (1 min. 20 sec.), featuring some added bass and percussion effects. The outro is longer and features some nice guitar from Brian. A very good extended mix.

This is an edit that takes quite a bit from the album mix. The long 2 minute outro and the "who waits forever anyway" parts are omitted here altogether. In it's place is the "who wants to live forever" chorus part until it fades out at 4:00.

This is a very early, rough demo of Who Wants To Live Forever. The demo has Brian messing around with a synthesizer, working out the basic melody of the track. This is owned and was shared by John S. Stuart on the Queenzone.com website.

Who Wants To Live Forever (Skip Demo 2) 5:05

This demo is much more fleshed out and complete than the first "skip demo." The melody of the track is almost complete and sounds very familiar to anyone who knows the final version. The same synthesizer sound matches the one on the first skip demo. Again, this is owned and was shared by John S. Stuart on the Queenzone.com website.

Freddie's vocals are gone altogether in this instrumental mix, but keeps the overdubs with Kurgan from the Highlander movie. Brian's guitar solo is missing as well. Still neat to hear though.

Gimme The Prize (The eYe Version 1) 4:03
Written by Brian May
Appears on: Queen: The eYe

From the Electronic Arts videogame, Queen: The eYe. An excellent version that is quite different to the album version. There is no guitar intro, instead this version starts with Freddie's vocals. All of Kurgan's lines are edited out of the track and sword-fighting sound effects from Highlander are gone as well. I prefer this version to the album version.

Gimme The Prize (The eYe Version 2) 4:12
Written by Brian May
Appears on: Queen: The eYe

From the Electronic Arts videogame, Queen: The eYe. An instrumental mix, with no lead vocals or Kurgan dialogue from Highlander. The middle section before Brian's drum solo has some new effects as well. The last 10 seconds are completely silent.

Gimme The Prize (The eYe Version 3) 4:11
Written by Brian May
Appears on: Queen: The eYe

From the Electronic Arts videogame, Queen: The eYe. A hybrid of the other 2 "Eye" mixes, this one has both Freddie’s vocals and Kurgan (who even has some extra lines), but no sword-fighting effects. Again, there is no guitar intro and the added effects from version 2 are retained. 8 seconds of silence end the track.

Appears on: Queen: The eYe

From the Electronic Arts videogame, Queen: The eYe. An instrumental remix edit. The opening starts with some interesting extra drumming and percussion. More or less, it is a lot like an instrumental of the first 2 minutes of the album version. Drums overall sound different and there's some differences with the sound of the keyboards. There's a slight guitar bit retained as well. Ends nicely and originally with a long synthesized note.

From the Electronic Arts videogame, Queen: The eYe. An instrumental edit of the first minute of the song. Surprisingly, the track has a brief piano intro, possibly from an outtake. Very interesting, just for the extra piano bit.

A slow song, this demo, presumably from the A Kind Of Magic sessions, is Freddie on the piano in the early stages of developing the song. There are no real lyrics, just the title as a sort of chorus and Freddie gently singing "I'm so sorry" and "dee dee dee deeing" his way through as he normally does before lyrics are written.

A demo, rumored to be from the early A Kind Of Magic sessions in Munich surfaced in the bootleg/trading community some time ago. It was given the title Back To Storm, most likely by a collector. In listening to the lyrics, it sounds more like "coming on much too strong" as opposed to "back to storm." Regardless, the track features Freddie on vocals
. There are keyboards, bass, and drum as well. It sounds as though the drums are genuine and not programmed.

To go along with the Back To Storm demo, an instrumental version has been leaked as well. This is just Freddie on piano working through the notes and tempo. I would assume the song was written by Freddie based off of this instrumental demo.
